The iCycler is an oil-free, Peltier-driven thermal cycler featuring an anti-condensation heated lid (up to 105 °C) that removes the need for oil overlays. A quarter-VGA graphical LCD and intuitive menu let users program up to 256 protocols, including temperature gradients, with timing and temperature monitored both at the block and via in-sample probe algorithms. Interchangeable reaction modules support 96 × 0.2 mL tubes, 2 × 48 × 0.2 mL tubes, 60 × 0.5 mL tubes or 384-well plates, all in a compact 9 × 10.4 × 21.5 in footprint. Fast ramping (3.3 °C/sec heat, 2.0 °C/sec cool) combined with ±0.3 °C block accuracy and ±0.4 °C well-to-well uniformity ensure reproducible PCR results.
