About the Welch Allyn 300 Series

Description:

The 300 Series packs an adult/pediatric/neonatal NIBP module, Nellcor-compatible SpO₂, and SureTemp Plus predictive thermometry into a 6.6 × 10 × 6-inch housing that weighs barely 5 lb. A back-lit LCD, LED numeric windows and soft-key menu make it simple to launch single or automatic BP cycles, spot SpO₂, or grab a 4-sec oral temperature. Built-in memory stores up to 99 data sets, an optional thermal printer produces hard-copy charts, and a nurse-call relay plus RS-232 port let the unit drop seamlessly into ward workflows. The sealed lead-acid battery delivers eight hours of triage on a charge, while the medical-rated 8 VDC adapter runs and recharges the monitor simultaneously. A recessed handle and pole / wall mounts let caregivers roll the monitor from ED to recovery without swapping devices or cables.

Economic Advantage:

Before the Spot 300, staff needed three separate instruments—and outlets—for BP, pulse-ox and thermometry, slowing rounds and cluttering bays. By merging all core vitals, adding one-button automated intervals, and running a full shift on battery, the 300 Series cut vitals-capture time to under 30 seconds per patient and freed counter space for revenue-producing procedures. Its upgradeable card cage (printer, SpO₂ or temp can be retro-fitted) meant budgets could start small and scale later, extending service life and lowering total cost compared with single-function replacements.
