Description:
Topcon’s minus-cylinder VT-10 offers continuous spherical power from –19.00 D to +16.75 D in 0.25 D (or 0.12 D) steps, cylinders to –6 D and rotary prisms for 40 Δ convergence/ divergence tests. A slim 4.5 kg aluminium body, 48–75 mm PD and quick-set auxiliary lens discs made it a workhorse in refraction rooms worldwide.
Economic Advantage:
Optometrists moving from earlier plus-cylinder instruments loved the VT-10’s minus-cylinder layout (aligned with spectacle labs) and its built-in near-vision convergence mechanism, which reduced chair time and transcription errors.
