About the Marco LM-101

Description:

The Marco LM-101 is a compact manual lensmeter engineered to read everything from 24 mm soft contact lenses to 90 mm spectacle blanks. An American-style cross-line target and high-contrast green / orange LED back-lighting make the sphere, cylinder and axis easy to resolve, while a built-in prism compensator lets you verify up to 20 Δ without search wheels. Full 0 – 90 ° inclination flips the unit vertical for wetted-contact-lens checks, and oversized lens supports steady even thick progressive blanks. External power-and-axis scales mean readings can be taken without looking through the eyepiece—useful in busy surfacing labs. The LM-101 runs on its universal 100–240 V adapter or two D-cells, so it parks on any bench or mobile cart without wiring. Solid Marco construction and a sealed LED light path translate into years of drift-free measurements with virtually no lamp maintenance.

Economic Advantage:

Many practices still relied on aging incandescent lensometers that needed frequent bulb changes and produced uneven illumination, leading to reading errors and retakes. By moving to long-life dual-color LEDs and giving users battery mobility plus a 90 ° contact-lens mode, the LM-101 cuts consumable spend, reduces downtime and lets one instrument serve clinic, finishing lab and outreach screenings alike. Fewer repeat measures and the ability to validate contact-lens parameters in-house trim chair time and outsourcing costs, giving the unit one of the lowest costs per prescription verification in its class.
