About the Moog Curlin 4000 CMS Ambulatory

Description:

The Curlin 4000 CMS is a lightweight, ambulatory electronic infusion pump engineered for continuous, PCA/PCEA, subcutaneous, TPN, intermittent and variable-mode therapies. Its curvilinear peristaltic pumping mechanism delivers fluid at 0.002 mL (2 µL) resolution—even upside down or during patient movement—while a large-font LCD shows real-time flow rate, volume delivered and line-pressure trends to detect occlusions. Programming is menu-driven with context-sensitive help screens, quick-repeat bolus and user-audit trails. The pump runs on two “C” alkaline batteries (≈ 24 h runtime), can pole-mount or stow in a soft-carry pack, and automatically clamps the tubing when the door opens to prevent free flow—all in a 17.5 oz, 5.1″ × 4.0″ × 2.5″ chassis.

Economic Advantage:

By uniting multi-mode therapy support with industry-leading 2 µL resolution and continuous line-pressure monitoring, the Curlin 4000 CMS minimizes medication errors and reduces drug waste. Its intuitive programming and on-screen help slash staff training and setup time, while battery-powered portability extends infusion beyond the bedside—eliminating expensive cradle systems. The unique Integral Flow-Stop mechanism prevents inadvertent free flow when loading or unloading sets, further lowering risk and liability. Together, these features cut ownership costs and boost throughput compared to both single-mode ambulation pumps and larger pole-mounted units.
