Description:
The Alaris GH delivers weight-based infusions with ±2 % accuracy using open-architecture syringes from 5 mL to 50 mL. An 8-line graphic LCD names the drug, concentration and soft/hard Guardrails limits; event logs capture 24 h of programming changes. Bolus keys ramp to 1 200 mL h⁻¹, and a 0.5 mL critical-volume finish prevents over-infusion at end-stroke. Eleven occlusion levels plus KVO auto-switch keep neonates safe, while a flashing roof beacon and 85 dB piezo cut through busy wards. The sealed NiMH battery runs four hours at 5 mL h⁻¹ and recharges to 90 % in 2.5 h on any IV pole outlet.
Economic Advantage:
Because Guardrails drug libraries ride in the pump, hospitals without full EMR integration still obtain dose-error reduction. Shared disposables across the Alaris PC, CC and GH families drop tubing SKUs by 30 %.
