The PAL-1 is a rugged, palm-size digital refractometer that measures sucrose concentration (Brix) and prism temperature in under three seconds. Simply place at least 0.3 mL of sample on the sapphire prism, press START, and the backlit LCD displays the Brix value (0.0–53.0 %) alongside the prism temperature. Built-in automatic temperature compensation (ATC) corrects readings across 10–100 °C, while IP65 protection lets you work in wet or dusty environments. An internal log stores up to 100 measurements, and onboard NFC (Type 4 Tag) enables seamless data transfer to smartphones or tablets. Powered by two AAA batteries, the PAL-1 delivers roughly 11,000 readings per set and shuts off automatically after two minutes of inactivity—ideal for field, lab or production-line use.
