About the Beckman Coulter AcT Diff 2

Description:

The Ac·T diff 2 is a fully automated bench-top hematology analyzer that uses the Coulter impedance method to deliver complete blood counts—including WBC, RBC, Hgb, Hct, Plt—and a 3-part differential in under 60 seconds per sample. With both open- and closed-vial sampling modes, it aspirates just 18 µL of whole blood (or 735 µL prediluted) and employs dual apertures (WBC: 100 µm×75 µm; RBC: 50 µm×60 µm) for precise cell sizing and counting. An intuitive touchscreen guides sample ID, QC and review, while onboard automated calibration, quality-control routines and proprietary voting algorithms ensure reliable data. Results for up to 250 patients and 279 control runs are stored numerically and can be printed or transmitted via ASTM-compliant serial/Ethernet interfaces

Economic Advantage:

By combining minimal sample volume, rapid turnaround and dual-mode sampling in a footprint under two square feet, the Ac·T diff 2 slashes reagent and labor costs for small labs and point-of-care settings. Its automated QC and maintenance-free design eliminate routine service, while full data storage and networked connectivity remove manual logging. The result: faster, same-visit diagnoses with a lower total cost of ownership than bulky benchtop analyzers or send-out testing.
