The Kendall SCD 700 Series 29525 is Covidien/Cardinal Health’s flagship “Smart Compression” controller, delivering sequential, gradient, circumferential pneumatic compression to either legs, feet or both. Two independent ports let you run uni- or bilateral therapy, while the patented Vascular Refill Detection (VRD) algorithm monitors venous refill and automatically changes the rest phase after each 11-second inflation cycle, customising therapy in real time. A 3.2-inch colour LCD with large icons, animated alarm cues and a built-in compliance meter make bedside use intuitive; the grooveless plastic housing, IPX3 splash protection and tool-free bed-hook speed up cleaning and mounting. An internal lithium-ion pack provides up to eight hours of untethered operation, recharging automatically on AC power, and a USB port simplifies software updates.

Earlier SCD pumps delivered fixed duty cycles, often idling while veins were already refilled. VRD lets the 700 move up to 76 % more blood over time, cutting the incidence of hospital-acquired DVT/PE and the costly complications that follow.
