About the Nellcor N-65 Handheld

Description:

The N-65 pairs Nellcor’s digital signal-processing with a bright, blue back-lit numeric display that remains readable in an ambulance bay or operating suite. Four AA cells power up to 40 h of continuous use, and the rugged 0.65 lb chassis survives the bangs of transport care. Audible/visual alarms, large membrane keys and a built-in blip bar make single-handed operation easy when the other hand is on the patient. Compatibility with the full OxiMax sensor family—including MAX-FAST forehead and SoftCare™ non-adhesive probes—extends reliable saturation monitoring from neonates to bariatric adults, even during low perfusion or motion.

Economic Advantage:

Before the N-65, reliable portable oximetry meant costly, purpose-built monitors. By borrowing common AA batteries and shipping with reusable or disposable sensors, Nellcor cut ownership costs sharply. The device’s LoSat algorithm reduced false desaturations, lowering nuisance alarms and preventing expensive re-checks—all while beating market leaders on battery endurance.
