About the Sony UP-D897 Digital

Description:

The Sony UP-D897 is a compact, A6-format thermal printer engineered for digital ultrasound applications. Leveraging Sony’s dye-sublimation technology and a thin-film thermal head (1,280 dots), it delivers photo-quality monochrome prints at approximately 325 dpi with 256-level gradation. A front-panel jog dial and LCD allow on-the-fly adjustment of brightness, contrast, gamma and sharpness (15 levels), while offering Standard, Side, Small (0.5×) and 2× zoom print modes. It buffers each image in a 4096 × 1280 × 8 bit frame and holds up to 10 frames in memory. Connectivity includes Hi-Speed USB 2.0 plus composite video in/out (BNC, EIA/CCIR) and a stereo-jack remote port. Universal 100–240 VAC power and a compact footprint make integration into carts or consoles effortless.

Economic Advantage:

By halving conventional thermal-printer cycle times—achieving high-speed prints in just two seconds—the UP-D897 boosts throughput in busy imaging suites and cuts patient-wait times. Its small chassis (23% smaller than its predecessor), universal power compatibility and drop-in media reduce installation costs, while the absence of ink cartridges and minimal maintenance drive down operating expenses. Clinics benefit from rapid, reliable image capture at a fraction of the footprint and cost of larger desktop units.
